Discover High Park

Welcome to High Park, Toronto's largest public park, where city meets nature. Explore the collection of nature's beauty through stunning photography.

Nature's Beauty

The photo to the left depicts the growth of wild berries. Several of these small clusters appear partially eaten, suggesting that certain species within High Park rely on them as part of their diet.

The video above presents the lake discussed in my essay. While I had anticipated encountering trails, trees, and perhaps some wildlife, I was unprepared for the striking view of the lake that emerged as I descended down the trail stairs. This scene captures a fundamental aspect of urban nature: it is always greater than we expect and beyond our efforts to understand it completely and be in total control of it.

Wildlife/Environment

The photo to the left is one of several signs analyzed in my essay, emphasizing the distinction between humans and the other species inhabiting this environment.

The video above depicts an environment that appears almost natural, with High Park’s tall trees and bird nests, though it is intersected by metal staircases designed to facilitate human movement through the space.
